The Myths That Refuse to Die
Every plumber has heard them. Every homeowner has believed at least one.
Let’s bust some of the worst:

“Flushable wipes are fine.”
They are not. They’re building a fortress in your sewer line as we speak.

“Hot grease + hot water = safe.”
Nope. That grease just solidifies further down. Congratulations, you made a pipe candle.

“Lemons clean your disposal.”
They smell nice, sure. But they don’t scrub the gunk. It’s like putting perfume on a skunk.

“If it fits, it flushes.”
Tell that to the army of toys, cell phones, and… potatoes… we’ve pulled out of toilets.
Tip of the Week - How to Spot Bad Advice
If it starts with “My uncle said…” or “I saw on TikTok…,” assume it’s wrong.
Instead:

Use camera inspections for real answers

❌ Keep grease, wipes, and mystery items out of drains

Use actual cleaners or vinegar for disposals

Trust your ears: gurgles, clanks, and ghost flushes are not “normal”
Maintenance Minute - Myths That Cost You Money

✅ Myth: “Small leaks aren’t a big deal.”
Truth: They grow up into floods.

✅ Myth: “Drano fixes everything.”
Truth: It eats your pipes. Congrats, now you need new pipes and a plumber.

✅ Myth: “You can wait until it breaks.”
Truth: Emergency calls are way more expensive than preventative checks.
Weird Thing We Found This Week
Customer swore they “only flushed toilet paper.”
We pulled out: two socks, a Hot Wheels car, and half a chicken nugget.
Either their toilet is haunted, or somebody is lying.
Leaky Laugh of the Week
Q: Why did the plumber refuse to play hide-and-seek?
A: Because good luck hiding when everything you do leaks.
“Bottled water is better than filtered water.” Nope.
“Arizona water is just ‘hard,’ nothing to worry about.” Also nope.
“RO systems waste too much water.” Big nope.
